A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, January 9,
2012, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Donker presided.

Held public hearing and approved Zoning Petition No. 576 – rezoning
property located at 4671 S. Saginaw Road from Residential A-1 to Regional
Commercial zoning.
Held first reading of an ordinance amending Section
21-73 – General Recreation Fees.
Approved request to conduct “The Qualifier”
Marathon event on Sunday, May 20, 2012, starting at the Loons Stadium.
Made the following Traffic Control Orders permanent:
S-11-07 Plumer
Street shall yield to Austin Street
D-11-05 The
intersection at N. Saginaw Road and Northwood Drive shall be controlled by a
traffic control signal.
R-11-03 Austin
Street shall be converted from one-way to two-way traffic.
Approved request from Styron, LLC to revise the personal property
components of the previously approved Industrial Facilities Tax Exemption
Certificate.
Reappointed Carl Coons to the Board of Review for a
term to expire April 30, 2015.
Waived bid requirement and approved purchase of 13,400
gallons of unleaded fuel from Hirschman Oil of Reese, Michigan for $32,990.80
that was executed by the Purchasing Agent on December 15, 2011.
Waived bid requirement and approved execution of the end of lease
buy-out option of a leased 2008 John Deere 644K Wheel Loader and authorized
issuance of purchase order in an amount not to exceed $94,200 to John Deere
Credit of Johnston, Iowa.
Set public hearing for Monday, January 30, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. on the
proposed amendment to the 2011-12 General Fund budget to increase revenue and
expenditures in the amount of $58,990 for various corporate and local
foundation grants received for the Midland Police Department Narcotics K-9 Unit
and Honor Guard Team.
