MIDLAND CITY COUNCIL

 

A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, June 25, 2012, at 7:00 p.m.  Mayor Donker presided.

 

Councilmen present:

Thomas Adams, Diane Brown, Maureen Donker, Marty Wazbinski

Councilmen absent:

J. Dee Brooks

 

Proclaimed June 30, 2012 as Olympic Day in the City of Midland.

 

Held public hearing and approved the 2012 Dublin Street Improvement Special Assessment District Special Assessment Roll.

 

Held public hearing and approved the 2012 Dublin Sanitary Sewer Improvement Special Assessment District Special Assessment Roll.

 

Held second reading and adopted an ordinance amending Section 16-34 – Fireworks.

 

Held second reading and adopted an ordinance amending the City of Midland Water Ordinance.

 

Held second reading and adopted an ordinance amending the City of Midland Sewer Ordinance.

 

Approved Site Plan No. 310 – Olive Garden.

 

Approved new Northwood University Entrance Roadway and related signs.  (Yeas:  Adams, Donker, Wazbinski   Nays:  Brown)

 

Approved Midland Police Command Group Labor Agreement.

 

Approved request of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association of Michigan to hold a Block Party on Thursday, August 2, 2012 and conduct a Light Parade on Saturday, August 4, 2012.

 

Authorized execution of contract with Sterling Excavation, Inc. of West Branch, Michigan for the “2012 Dublin Avenue Widening and Sanitary Sewer, Contract No. 12”, in the amount of $274,021.50.

 

Authorized issuance of purchase order to Wilcox Associates of Saginaw, Michigan for Poseyville Road Reconstruction Inspection Services in the amount of $69,920.

 

Authorized issuance of purchase order to Edwards Fiberglass, Inc. of Sedalia, MO for the Water Treatment Plant Fluoride Tank Replacement, Bid No. 3433, in the amount of $42,897.

 

Set public hearing for Monday, July 9, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. on the proposed 2012-13 Grace A. Dow Memorial Library budget amendment to recognize receipt of grant funds for the resurfacing of the public parking lot.
