OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS

MIDLAND CITY COUNCIL

A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, October 29, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Donker presided with all Councilmen present.

Held public hearing and approved amendment to the 2012-13 Grace A. Dow Memorial Library budget to recognize revenues and expenditures for infrastructure and interior improvements to the library.

Held public hearing and approved amendment to the 2012-13 General Fund budget to recognize revenues and expenditures for neighborhood parks playground equipment.

Held public hearing and approved amendment to the 2012-13 Water Enterprise Fund budget to increase revenues and expenditures for the Phase I Filter Clear Well Repairs at the Water Treatment Plant and authorized issuance of purchase order to John E Green of Saginaw, Michigan for said repairs in the amount of $179,620.

Authorized the execution of future contract with the Michigan Department of Transportation for safety improvements at Patrick Road and B.R. 10 using the modern roundabout concept.

Approved Final Plat of Broadhead Estates No. 5 – a residential subdivision located east of Jefferson Avenue and south of Julie Ann Drive.

Received and filed the City of Midland quarterly financial report for the quarter and year ending June 30, 2012.

Accepted resignation of Daniel Cline from the Downtown Development Authority.

Made Traffic Control Order P-12-04 permanent – parking shall be prohibited on Novak Street along the frontage of 2705 Novak Street.

Waived bid requirement and approved purchase of 13,401 gallons of unleaded fuel from Hirschman Oil of Reese, Michigan for $41,529.70 that was executed by the Purchasing Agent on October 10, 2012.

Authorized execution of contract with the Michigan Department of Transportation for operations of the Jack Barstow Airport Automated Weather Operating System.

Authorized issuance of purchase order to JBS Contracting, Inc. of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan for the remodeling of the kitchen at Fire Station 1, in the amount of $31,914.
