OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS

MIDLAND CITY COUNCIL

A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, December 17, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Donker presided.

Held public hearing and approved Conditional Use Permit No. 43 – a 49 unit senior apartment building located at 300 Joseph Drive.

Received and filed the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and Single Audit Report for the year ended June 30, 2012.

Authorized the City of Midland to fund 50% of the total required local match costs for planning funds for administration of the metropolitan planning process.

Approved in concept the establishment of a SmartZone in the South Midland Redevelopment Zone area and authorized Midland Tomorrow to make application to the Michigan Economic Development Corporation for SmartZone designation on behalf of the City of Midland.

Authorized execution of agreement with the State of Michigan Bureau of Fire Services for the delegation of inspections for consumer fireworks retail sales facilities.
