MIDLAND CITY COUNCIL

 

A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, November 25, 2013, at 7:00 p.m.  Mayor Donker presided with all Councilmen present.

 

Received and filed the 2014-15 Budget Preparation Schedule.

 

No action taken on a resolution rejecting the 2013 Local Officers’ Compensation Commission Determinations as filed on October 29, 2013.

 

Received and filed the City of Midland financial report for the quarter and year ending June 30, 2013.

 

Received and filed the City of Midland quarterly financial report for the quarter ending September 30, 2013.

 

Received and filed the City and County Joint Building Authority Audit for the year ended June 30, 2013.

 

Confirmed the appointment of Bobbie Arnold to the Downtown Development Authority.  

 

Confirmed the appointments of Jerry Davis, Keith Wirth and Grant Helms to the International Fire Code Board of Appeals.

 

Referred request to consider sale of 1606 Jefferson Avenue to the City of Midland Housing Commission for their report and recommendation.

 

Accepted grant from the Friends of MCTV for the purchase of field cameras.

 

Authorized execution of contract with CivicPlus of Manhattan, Kansas for Website Redesign and Hosting Services and payment in the amount of $41,424.

 

Authorized issuance of purchase order to Kennedy Industries, Inc. of Milford, Michigan for the Landfill – Pump Station Submersible Pump Replacements, in the amount of $48,060.

 

Authorized issuance of purchase order to Michigan Pipe & Valve of Saginaw, Michigan for the Landfill – Pump Station Replacement Valves, Piping and Fittings, Bid No. 3581, in the amount of $27,470.

 

Authorized issuance of purchase order to Cummins Bridgeway of Gaylord, Michigan for the purchase of a Landfill – Pump Station Standby Generator, Bid No. 3570, in the amount of $28,982.

 

Authorized issuance of purchase order to Motorola Solutions, Inc. of Farmington Hills, Michigan for Public Services Radio System Replacement, in the amount of $278,921.67.

 

Authorized issuance of purchase order to West Shore Fire, Inc. for the purchase of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) for the Fire Department, in the amount or $257,104.

 

Set public hearing for Monday, December 16, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. on a request for approval of a Brownfield Redevelopment Plan for the Downtown Midland DTH, LLC.

 

Set public hearing for Monday, December 16, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. on Zoning Petition No. 588 – rezoning property located at 323 Sauve Street from Regional Commercial zoning to Industrial A zoning.

 

Set public hearing for Monday, January 13, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. on the proposed vacation of Corning Lane and Sauve Street.
