America's Olympics-bound Softball Team Coming to Midland!

SPECIAL NOTE:  No coolers will be allowed in Currie Stadium on game day.

Please also note that tickets are no longer available for the June 21 scrimmage between the USA Olympic Women's Softball Team and the Midland Lady Explorers.

The Midland Parks and Recreation Department and the Midland Area Community Foundation (MACF) are pleased to announce that the USA Softball Women’s National Team will make a stop in Midland on June 21 as part of a 27-city nationwide tour before they head to the summer 2008 Olympic Games.

America’s premier women’s softball team will square off in a rousing game against a local team, the Midland Lady Explorers, on Saturday, June 21 at 3 p.m. at Currie Stadium in Emerson Park. Click here to find out the game day schedule.

Midland is one of only a few stops in Michigan for the team, which is part of the “Bound for Beijing” pre-Olympic tour.

FREE TICKETS GIVEN OUT: Thanks to a generous $15,000 donation from the MACF, a total of 5,000 free tickets to this event were given out a first-come, first-served basis between Tuesday, May 20 and Thursday, May 22. NO MORE TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE.

For those who have tickets, seating availability is shown in the graphic at right and explained below.
  • Stadium Seating: will entitle ticket holders to seats in Sections A, B, F and G.

  • Bleacher Seating: will entitle ticket holders to bleacher areas along the right and left field lines

  • Lawn Seating: will be available beyond the outfield fence for lawn chairs and blanket seating.

  • Sections C, DD and E are reserved and will not be available for general seating.
