Midland's Department of Public Services (DPS) is responsible for providing such services as household refuse collection, yard waste collection, recycling, heavy item and brush collection from residences, the Borrow-A-Container program, sidewalk repair, and maintenance of over 210 miles of the city's major and local streets, which includes street repair, street sweeping, and snow removal.

Take advantage of these DPS services to help you move, clean out the garage, etc.:

Borrow-A-Container  4 x 6 x 4-foot dumpster may be reserved for overnight loading.

Heavy Item Collection  The City picks up heavy items - like refrigerators, moving boxes, and asphalt - at the curb of Midland residents once each month. Appliances and moving boxes will be picked up on a call-in basis (989-837-6900).

Household Hazardous Materials  What constitutes a household hazardous material, and how to dispose of those items.

Recycling  Curbside recycling is available for many items. Certain recyclables may also be dropped off at the Midland Recyclers (at entrance to City's Landfill, 4311 E. Ashman St., 989-631-1668), or to Brady News & Recycling (3240 Schuette Rd., 989-496-9900).
