AREAS COMPLETED

March 12, 2010

“Three Free” will begin on Monday, March 29th through Friday, April 16, 2010.  During this period, no stickers are required on paper compost bags and a current year stickers is not required on yard waste bins.  Please do not rake leaves into the street.  Stickers will be required on all compost bags and yard bins on Monday, April 19th.

December 4, 2009

Leaf collection from the streets is now complete throughout the City. No leaves are allowed in the street. Street sweepers will come through to clean the streets, weather permitting.  Residents with leaves remaining should place them in paper compost bags or a City yard waste bin.  These will be picked up on your weekly refuse day through December 18, 2009. No stickers are required.

·         Due to possible freezing temperatures, contents in bins may freeze not allowing for dumping.  Keep bins in the garage until collection day will help prevent this problem.

December 3, 2009

Collection is complete in all AREAS that rake into the street.  No leaves are allowed to be placed in the street once you have received your final collection.  Crews will be collecting on those streets that rake leaves to the outlawn. Street sweepers will come through to clean the streets, weather permitting.  Residents with leaves remaining should place them in paper compost bags or a City yard waste bin.  These will be picked up on your weekly refuse day. No stickers are required.

On Thursday, December 3rd, crews will be in AREA A working from Saginaw to Rockwell and the Mapleton area. FINAL collection is complete in AREA B , AREA C, AREA D,and part of AREA A(from Ashman to Saginaw).    No leaves are allowed to be placed in the street once you have received your final collection.  Street sweepers will come through to clean the streets, weather permitting.  Residents with leaves remaining should place them in paper compost bags or a City yard waste bin.  These will be picked up on your weekly refuse day. No stickers are required.

On Tuesday, December 1st, crews will continue collecting in AREA D working in the triangle bounded by Wheeler, Jefferson, and Saginaw Roads, W St. Andrews to Ashman, and the M-20 Corridor.  All other areas in AREA D are complete.  FINAL collection is complete in AREA B , AREA C, and part of AREA D.    No leaves are allowed to be placed in the street once you have received your final collection.  Street sweepers will come through to clean the streets, weather permitting.  Residents with leaves remaining should place them in paper compost bags or a City yard waste bin.  These will be picked up on your weekly refuse day. THANKSGIVING holiday refuse/recycle schedule

Residents with Thursday collections should place refuse and recycling (week 4) at the curb on Wednesday, November 25th by 7:30 a.m.  Residents with Friday collections should place refuse and recycling (week 4) at the curb on Monday, November 30, 2009.

November 25, 2009

On Monday, November 30th, crews will be collecting in AREA D working in the McGregor/Revere area to Main , Eastman Avenue east to Ashman, the triangle bounded by Wheeler, Jefferson, and Saginaw Roads, and the M-20 corridor.  FINAL collection is complete in AREA B , AREA C, and part of AREA D from Dublin to Eastman.    No leaves are allowed to be placed in the street once you have received your final collection.  Street sweepers will come through to clean the streets, weather permitting.  Residents with leaves remaining should place them in paper compost bags or a City yard waste bin.  These will be picked up on your weekly refuse day. Wackerly working west towards Jefferson.  AREA B is complete from Waldo to Jefferson between E. Ashman and E. Wheeler.  No leaves are allowed to be placed in the street once you have received your final collection.  Residents with leaves remaining should place them in paper compost bags or a City yard waste bin. No stickers are required.   All residents in AREA C should prepare leaves for collection.

FINAL collection will continue in AREA B.  Crews will be collecting from Washington north of E St Andrews to E Wheeler working towards Jefferson.  If time permits, crews will collect beginning at Butterfield workings towards Jefferson between E Wheeler and E Wackerly.  AREA B is COMPLETE from Waldo to Washington between E Ashman and E Wheeler.  Street sweepers have cleaned this area.  No leaves are allowed to be placed in the street once you have received your final collection.  Residents with leaves remaining should place them in paper compost bags or City yard waste bins.  No stickers are required on bags.

FINAL collection will continue in AREA B.  Crews will be start in the Swede Avenue area working west to Jefferson between E Ashman and E Wheeler.  All residents west of Swede in AREA B should have leaves prepared for collection.  Crews will then proceed to AREAS C, D, and A for final collection.  No leaves are allowed in the street once you have received your final collection.  Once each AREA is finished with its final collection, street sweepers will come through to clean the streets, weather permitting.  Residents with leaves remaining after this final collection, should place them into paper compost bags or City yard waste bins that are collected on your weekly refuse day.  No stickers are required on bags.

FINAL collection will continue in AREA B in the Congress/Plymouth area north to E Wheeler and working west to Jefferson and the area of Lambros to E Ashman starting at Waldo and working west to Jefferson.  All residents in AREA B should have leaves prepared for collection.  Crews will then proceed to AREAS C, D, and A for final collection.  No leaves are allowed in the street once you have received your final collection.  Once each AREA is finished with its final collection, street sweepers will come through to clean the streets, weather permitting.  Residents with leaves remaining after this final collection, should place them into paper compost bags or City yard waste bins that are collected on your weekly refuse day.  No stickers are required on bags.

Crews will start in the Fuller/Waldo area and work to Jefferson between E Ashman and E Wheeler.  All residents in AREA B should have leaves prepared for collection.  Crews will then proceed to AREAS C, D, and A for final collection.  No leaves are allowed in the street once you have received your final collection.  Once each AREA is finished with its final collection, street sweepers will come through to clean the streets, weather permitting.  Residents with leaves remaining after this final collection, should place them into paper compost bags or City yard waste bins that are collected on your weekly refuse day.  No stickers are required on bags.

On Wednesday, October 28th, crews will continue collecting in AREA B-working from the Swede area to Jefferson between E Wheeler and E Wackerly.  AREA C should prepare their leaves for collection.  If time permits, crews will begin collection in AREA C at Jefferson working towards the west City limits.

On Tuesday, October 27th, crews will begin collecting west of Swede working towards Jefferson between E Ashman and E Wheeler.  If time permits, crews will collect from Butterfield working towards Swede between E Wheeler and E Wackerly.

The 2009 Fall leaf collection will begin on Monday, October 26th in AREA B.  Crews will start at Fuller/Waldo Ave. working west towards Washington between E Ashman and E Wheeler.  Residents in this area should prepare leaves for collection.  Leave at least one foot of gutter space between leaf pile and the curb.  DO NOT mix brush or refuse in leaf piles.  Residents should avoid parking cars on streets while leaf crew is working.

You may continue putting leaves into kraft paper bags with NO collection sticker for the remainder of the leaf collection season.  Bags will be collected on your weekly refuse day.

October 5, 2009

“Three Free” will begin on Monday, October 5th through Friday, October 23rd.  During this period, no stickers will be required on paper compost bags and a current year sticker is not required on yard waste bins.  Leaves will only be collected in bags or bins.  Please do not rake leaves into the street.  The City will begin collecting leaves raked into the gutter once a significant leaf drop has occurred city-wide.  No date has been determined for collecting from the street.
