Midland County Sports Hall of Fame
The Midland County
Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1990 by the Amateur Sports Capital
Committee of the Midland County Convention and Visitors Bureau. The express
purpose of the Hall of Fame is to honor athletes, sports persons, coaches,
administrators and benefactors who have made a significant impact on Midland
sports programs. If you have a worthy
candidate in your organization please be encouraged to nominate them! Forms are available at the link below,
Midland Parks and Recreation Office and at the Midland Chamber of Commerce and
Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. Forms
must be received by June 15 to be eligible for the 2010 Hall of Fame. Winners and nominators will be contacted via
telephone once the 2010 Class has been selected. For those individuals who are not selected,
all nomination forms are held for a period of three years. The Hall of Fame is currently located at the

Punt Pass and
Kick
Young football
fans will have an opportunity to exhibit their punting, passing and
placekicking skills when Midland Parks and Recreation hosts the annual MRPA
Punt, Pass and Kick Competition on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at
Central Middle School. There are separate divisions for boys and girls and the
event is FREE. All participants will register on-site and are required to wear
gym/tennis shoes – no cleats allowed. If a child is a winner of his/her age
group they will need to produce a birth certificate after the event. First
place finishers will advance to a sectional competition and may advance to the
state and national finals!

Haunted
Forest
Walk
amongst the ghouls and goblins along a 20-minute guided trek in the dark,
wooded City Forest at 2840 E. Monroe Rd. in Midland. We recommend that children
are eight years of age and older (PG-8) with parental discretion advised. The
Haunted Forest is planned for October 14-17 and October 21-24 from 7:30 p.m.
until 10:00 p.m. No one will be allowed to line up after 9:30 p.m. Admission to the Haunted Forest is $5.00 for
adults (12 and older) and $3.00 for children (11 and under). Refreshments will
be available for purchase at the event. A portion of the proceeds will benefit
the Midland Special Olympics.

volunteers are needed for many projects in order to help make this event a
spooky good time! Individuals, groups and organizations wishing to volunteer
