END-OF-SEASON NEWS:  Plymouth Pool and Stratford Woods Beach are now closed for the 2008 summer season.

 

Whether you enjoy swimming pools or beaches, Midland Parks & Recreation Department has just what you're looking for:

 

Plymouth Park - (4501 Plymouth Park DriveOn the corner of Swede Ave. and E. Wheeler St.)

 

Complete with a waterslide, the swimming pool at Plymouth Park provides a calm, relaxing activity for the whole family. Enhancements completed in Summer 2006 include special spray features, a longer shallow area, a zero depth entry that's perfect for children and those with disabilities, and an increased depth in the deep end of the pool to accommodate competitive racing with starting blocks. New showers and changing facilities with spacious handicap accessible dressing rooms are also now featured in the pool building.

 

Single Admission:

PlymouthSwim12.jpgSingle admission is $3 for adults and $2 for youth and senior citizens.  Ages 4 and under is free.

 

Limited (15-Admission) Passes:

15-Admission passes can be purchased at the pool or the Parks and Recreation Office, 4811 N. Saginaw Rd.
Youth      $25.00

Adult       $35.00

2008 Pool Hours    

Monday-Friday:                        

• 6:15 - 7:15 a.m.      Lap Swim                    

• 11:45 - 12:45 p.m.  Lap Swim

• 5:45 - 6:45 p.m.      Lap Swim

• 1:00 - 5:30 p.m.      Open Swim

• 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.      Family Swim (children 18 and younger must be accompanied by an adult)

 

Monday, Wednesday, Friday

• 5:45 - 6:45 p.m.   Aquasize

 - Starts June 23, 2008 and ends with the swim season - Cost $3

 

Saturday-Sunday & Holidays:

• 11:45 - 12:45 p.m.   Lap Swim

• 1:00 - 5:45 p.m.      Open Swim

• 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.      Family Swim (children 18 and younger must be accompanied by an adult)

 

Swim Lessons:

Swim lessons are available at Plymouth Pool. Registration is available through the Parks and Recreation Office, and the cost for an 8-session lesson is $30 per person.

 

Stratford2.jpgPer City Ordinance No. 1614, there will be a $10 service fee for any refunds.

 

Stratford Woods Park - (3922 E. Ashman, At the eastern edge of Midland on E. Ashman St., 1/4 mile east of Waldo Ave.)

 

Stratford Lake is another popular swimming location in Midland. This shallow, sandy bottom lake is perfect for children and adults alike.  A large beach is available for sunbathing or playing in the sand.

 

There is no admission to the park.

 

Park hours are 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
