Parks and Recreation, in cooperation with the
Midland Community Tennis Center, presents Play Tennis Midland! The program
offers competitively priced tennis classes for beginners through experienced
tennis players. Programs include age
appropriate and skill based instruction.
All classes have a maximum of a ten to one radio (except Little Kids
Tennis) and are taught at the Midland Community Tennis Center. Equipment will be provided but students must
wear tennis shoes. In the event of low
program registration, classes may be combined.
Registration
begins Monday, May 10, 2010 at Parks and Recreation office, 4811 N. Saginaw
Road.
Check,
cash and credit card payments are accepted (in-person only).
All
classes will be taught at the Midland Community Tennis Center, 900 E. Wackerly
Road.
Three 4-week sessions are offered at the
Midland Community Tennis Center throughout the summer.

Little
Kids Tennis: Ages 4 7
A fun class emphasizing basic skills and
hand/eye coordination. Instructor ratio
is 6 players to 1 teacher. Your child
must meet the age requirements by the starting date of the program.
Juniors: Ages 8 14
This program is designed for players ages
814 who want to learn how to play the great game of tennis. Players will learn basics of the game: forehand, backhand, serve, volley, scoring,
games, and

Workout: Ages 13 17
This program is for older players who want to
prepare for their upcoming intermediate and high school seasons. Emphasis will be on stroke development and doubles/singles
strategy.
Play
Tennis Fast Midland Play Tennis Fast 1
This program is for adults new to the game of
tennis. Emphasis will be to learn all
the essential strokes including forehand, backhand, volley and serve.
Play
Tennis Fast Midland Play Tennis Fast 2
This program revisits the basics, add
specialty shots, learn and practice doubles play. For returnee players, too!
