Beach Volleyball
Parks and Recreation has several beach
volleyball courts throughout the city for our residents to enjoy. Single courts are available at Emerson Park
(near the river) and Plymouth Park (behind the pool) and four courts are
located at Stratford Woods. Courts are
available on a first-come first-serve basis and are erected when weather
permits.
Men's, Women's and Coed Beach Volleyball
leagues are coordinated through the Midland Parks and Recreation Department. In
all leagues, teams officiate their own matches.
Parks & Recreation will provide a court monitor who is responsible
for getting the matches started, settling disputes, collecting results, and
assisting in the smooth operations of the games.
In 2 and 4-person leagues, the sponsor fee is
$30.00 per team. Player fee is $8.00 per
player per team. In 6-person leagues,
the sponsor fee is $60.00 with a player fee of $8.00 per player.
Register your team for the 2010 Beach Volley
season starting Monday, May 10, 2010 either by mail or in person. Team registration
deadline is Friday, May 28. The eight-game season begins June 14 and ends
August 12 (no games week of July 5-9). League
winners will receive t-shirts.
