Cross Country Skiing

Midland City Forest provides wonderful cross country skiing on groomed trails marked for skiers of all levels, from beginner to an advanced 11k loop. 

A 1k (.6 of a mile) beginner trail is lighted from dusk until 8 p.m. every evening that the City Forest is open. Trail maps are available at the trail head mailbox or at the ski rental shed.

Cross Country skis are available to rent at the garage at the west end of the parking lot.

Rental Rates and Hours*

Skis, boots and poles can be rented for $6 per two-hour rental. The trail at City Forest is open one hour past the rental cut-off times listed below.

Ski rental hours are below:

Weekdays	4-7 p.m.
Saturdays	10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sundays and Holidays	Noon to 7 p.m.
Holiday Break	10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (according to Midland Public Schools calendar)
December 24 and 31	10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

*City Forest is open one hour beyond the ski rental hours listed above.
