Library Resources
The Local History and Genealogy Room, next to the new adult titles, houses
local history and genealogy collections. The user can find information on the history of Midland including Midland City directories,
Midland County plat books, Midland telephone directories, early land records of Midland County, church histories, and many various general histories on the City of Midland and Midland County.
Specially trained volunteers are
available to offer in-depth assistance to patrons Monday - Friday 1-4 pm.
Please call ahead before making a special trip.

Sources of books
Many old local and family histories have been digitized and are
available online. Check the follow sources for online books.
HeritageQuest - must login with library card number. Search
"Books" to find fully digitized books.
Hathitrust Digital Library -
out-of-copyright (pre-1922) books should be viewable. Later
publications may be restricted.
Google Books - many books are
completely viewable, but you can find out what libraries own books you
want to consult.
Worldcat.org - this source
allows you to locate books in libraries, and to create your own account
to save booklists, notes, etc.
