The Master Plan: What It Is, Why It's Important

The City of Midland Master Plan serves as a guide for the future development of the Midland community. It takes a long view of how our community should look and feel 20 years from now. It identifies broad, city-wide goals for Midland as well as specific objectives and strategies.

The Master Plan serves as Midland’s “vision” for land use and development planning through 2026. As new development, infrastructure and opportunities come to Midland, the Master Plan will be referenced to assure that these initiatives are generally in line with the goals and objectives Midlanders and City planners identified through the Master Plan update process, which concluded with adoption of the current plan in 2007.
