Patrol Division

The Patrol Division of the Midland Police Department is responsible for law enforcement duties that include serving warrants, traffic services, crime prevention and patrol duties.

To contact the officers overseeing shift command for the Patrol Division, please call 989-839-4713 or e-mail them at citypolice@midland-mi.org.

The Patrol Division responds to calls for service and patrols the more than 36 square miles of the City of Midland and the 240 miles of roadway found in the city.

Midland residential population is approximately 42,000. That number easily grows by more than 10,000 during the daytime hours when people work, visit and play in Midland.

The Patrol Division is comprised of men and women who perform their duties on one of four 12-hour shifts. In a single shift, a patrol officer will handle minor calls for service such as a traffic hazard in the roadway, a bat in someone’s house, or a request to check property at an area business or residence. Patrol officers handle complex emotional and potentially lethal calls for service such as domestic assaults, burglaries and altercations. In addition, patrol officers must keep up with the many reports required of today’s law enforcement officials.
