Taxable Value and Millage Rates
A property’s taxable value (which is generally just under half of
the property’s market value) plus the millage rate for all taxing units
in the City of Midland’s jurisdiction determines what a property owner’s taxes
will be for the year.

Assessments
Assessments are determined as of December 31 of each year. Taxes are
calculated based on the taxable value of a property on December 31.
