Current Year Disposal Dates
Household hazardous waste disposal dates for the current year can be found on the
Landfill home page.
On these dates, Midland County residents may dispose of household items that are considered hazardous, such as chemicals, oil-based paints and stains, pesticides, insecticides, household cleaning products, certain auto products, mercury, and medicines.
To take advantage of this free service at the Landfill, schedule an appointment with the Midland County Health Department (989-832-6681). Be prepared to indicate the type and amount of materials you wish to drop off. Only residents with appointments will be allowed to drop off materials.
Electronic items such as cell phones, computers, computer screens, TVs, and other electronic devices that may contain mercury, plus old thermometers and fluorescent light bulbs, should be recycled whenever possible. Electronics may be accepted at Goodwill or Salvation Army, or Midland County residents can make an appointment during the Household Hazardous Waste dates above to drop off these items.
For more information, contact the Landfill at 989-837-6988.
