Midland, Michigan - Going Above and Beyond
the years, the City of Midland has been recognized for
outstanding customer service, safety, and technological
innovations. Likewise, City staff continually prove - both on
and off the job - that they are committed to not only our
Midland customers, but also to the wider Great Lakes Bay Region
(and beyond) through community service.
The City also collaborates with companies and organizations that work to maintain our high-quality of life. Economic development, a safe community, cultural amenities for just about any interest, low cost of living, and more are impacted by our efforts to make Midland a great place to live, work, and play.

MIDLAND LISTED AMONG TOP 50 SAFEST CITIES IN MICHIGAN (March 3, 2014) Midland has once again been recogized for its low crime rates - this time, in our home state. SafeWise, a security resource service, ranked Midland as the 14th safest city in Michigan. Cities were rated according to 2012 FBI crime statistics. Find out more.
MIDLAND GREAT CITY FOR MIDDLE CLASS (February 26, 2014) CNNMoney recognized Midland County as a community where the middle class thrives. The recognition was given to only eight communities across the U.S., and was determined based on unemployment numbers, affordability of housing, income levels, safety of the community, and more. COMMUNITY NAMED ONE OF 100 SAFEST CITIES IN U.S. (January 2014) For the second year in a row, Midland was named one of America's top 100 safest communities. The designation comes from NeighborhoodScout, a national neighborhood search engine that studies statistics to determine the best places to live, run a business, go to school, or find amenities that fit your needs and interests. The 100 safest list is based on the total number of property and violent crimes per 1,000 residents. Click here for details.
