Every year, the cities of Handa, Japan, and Midland,
Michigan take part in an
exchange of high school students. During odd-numbered years, Midland
sends students to Handa; during even-numbered years, Handa students

Host Family Recruitment: The Midland-Handa Sister City Student Exchange Committee is seeking Midland families that are interested in hosting a visiting teen from Handa during the summer of 2014. Families are asked to host a teen for one week during his/her stay in Midland to provide lodging, meals, and local transportation. Families are also invited to participate in several recreational and cultural events for all visitors and their host families during the students' three-week visit.
Informational Meeting - Find Out More: An informational meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 8, at 7 p.m. at the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library Community Room. This is a great chance to learn more about this exciting cross-cultural opportunity.
