The 2009 City Calendar Photo Contest kicks off on August 21, 2009.

Individuals are invited to submit color photos of Midland events, people at work or play in the city, scenic or historic places around town, or just your favorite snapshot of life in the city.  After all photos have been submitted, a voting process takes place at the City of Midland; City employees vote on the photos, and a final selection committee narrows down photos to the best that represent the city. Selected photos will appear in the 2010 City Calendar and Services Guide.

There is a limit of four (4) photo entries per photographer. All photos must be submitted as color originals, and each photo must have its own photo entry form. Forms should be attached to the back of each photo with tape. Calendar photos will be selected on the basis of originality, creativity and the quality of reproduction.

Photo entries will be accepted at the City Manager’s Office through 5  p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2009.

Photos to be used in the calendar will be selected in late October. Photographers whose work is selected to appear in the calendar will be notified by mail.

Photos submitted through the contest become the property of the City of Midland. Because many of the photos showcase the beauty and uniqueness of our community, they may be used for marketing purposes by the City, such as in City print publications or on this website.
