Making a Case for The Great Michigan Read
There's a lot to talk about in this year's Great Michigan Read selection, Arc of Justice: A Saga of Race, Civil Rights and Murder in the Jazz Age by Kevin Boyle. This award winning, non-fiction account of the Dr. Ossian Sweet case traces the events that occurred after an African American physician purchased a house in an all white Detroit neighborhood. The aftermath of the Sweet case was both tragic and transformative, impacting the civil rights movement and redefining America's views of justice and equality.
Panel discussion: Tuesday, February 28, 7:00 pm Library Auditorium
