Newspaper indexes | Newspapers on the Web | Newspapers in the Library Michigan Newspapers Cut Printing and Delivery Schedules Recent economic factors are causing major changes in the newspaper industry. Beginning June 1, 2009, the Bay City Times, The Flint Journal, and the Saginaw News will be printed only 3 days per week -- Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Local news will be provided daily through their web sites at MLive.com. The Ann Arbor News ceased publication in July, 2009, and has been replaced by a web-focused community news operation. The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press have cut delivery of the printed paper to Thursday, Fridays and Sundays. Daily newspapers will still be printed and distributed in the Detroit Metro area.
