Fritz, J              CABIN FACED WEST (1958) Ten-year-old Ann overcomes loneliness and learns to appreciate the importance of her role in settling the wilderness of western Pennsylvania.                                                     

 

Gregory, K       THE LEGEND OF JIMMY SPOON (1990)  A young white boy has numerous adventures with the Shoshoni Indians during the early frontier days.               

 

Harness, C       THREE YOUNG PILGRIMS (1992)  Mary, Remember and Bartholomew survive the harsh early years in America and see New Plymouth grow into a prosperous colony.                                                                     

                       

Hopkinson, D. PIONEER SUMMER (2002) At first reluctant to move to Kansas eight-year-old Charles has many adventures in his new home.

Liles, M            KITTY OF BLOSSOM PRAIRIE (1992)  Twelve-year-old Kitty and her family struggle to create a homestead on the Texas prairie in the mid-1800’s.           

 

MacLachlan, P  SARAH, PLAIN AND TALL (1985)  Caleb and Anna are captivated by the father’s mail-order bride, and hope that she will stay.

 

McBride, R      MISSOURI BOUND (1999) Even though she is sad to leave her home in South Dakota, Rose has many new experiences as her family makes its journey to Missouri.

 

McCully, E.      BATTLE FOR ST. MICHAELS (2002) In 1813, nine-year-old Caroline, a fast runner, helps the residents of Saint Michaels, Maryland, as they defend their town against the British.

VanLeeuwen, J. HANNAH’S HELPING HANDS (1999) In 1779, in Connecticut, Hannah and her family try to maintain there way of life as the Revolutionary War rages around them.

 

Yep, L             WHEN THE CIRCUS CAME TO TOWN (2002) An Asian cook and a Chinese New Year celebration help a girl at a Montana stage coach station to regain her confidence after smallpox scars her face.
