FIREWOOD SALE SCHEDULED
MIDLAND COUNTY RESIDENTS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE
A second City firewood sale has
been scheduled for Thursday, November 1 and Friday, November 2 and Midland
County residents, as well as City
of Midland residents, are invited
to participate.
City and county residents
interested in obtaining firewood must first purchase a permit from the Parks
and Recreation Department located in the Municipal
Service Center,
4811 N. Saginaw Road.
Firewood permits cost $5 per load for pick-ups, station wagons and suburbans
and $5 per axle for trailers. Permits
will be limited to two per household. A
maximum of 75 permits will be sold.
To collect the firewood,
permits are taken to the City’s Sturgeon Nursery site located on Airport
Road approximately 1/4 mile west of Sturgeon
Avenue.
Firewood will be available between 8 a.m.
and 2:30 p.m. on November 1 and
2. The person signing the permit at the
time of purchase must be present when picking up the wood. Permit holders will need to bring a chainsaw
to cut the wood into manageable lengths.
The firewood being sold has been collected from tree
trimming and cleanup of fallen trees on City property and in City parks.
