MIDLAND’S SISTER CITY HANDA, JAPAN TO VISIT AND

CELEBRATE 20^TH ANNIVERSARY

The Midland community is invited to help celebrate the 20^th anniversary of Midland’s Sister City relationship with the City of Handa, Japan at an official ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, April 16 at 10 a.m. in the reading room of the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library.

The City of Midland will host a six-member delegation from Handa April 15^th through the 18^th. The delegation includes the mayor of Handa, chairman of Handa’s city council and the president of Handa City Hospital. Their visit will include tours of the Midland community including stops at The Dow Chemical Company and MidMichigan Medical Center.

This celebration was originally scheduled to take place last October; however, the world-changing events of September 11 caused the celebration to be rescheduled.
