SAFE
COMMUNITIES
TAKING IT TO THE STREETS!
The Midland Police Department in conjunction with Midland Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and MidMichigan Medical Center will host a Safe Communities meeting at the Midland Law Enforcement Center, 2727 Rodd St. on Tuesday, May 21 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Laurie Bullock from the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning (MOHSP) will discuss the Michigan Safe Communities program and the possibility of establishing a Safe Community Coalition in Midland.
Michigan Safe Communities is a
program that invites local community leaders, organizations and citizens to
work with OHSP to prevent traffic crashes, violence and substance abuse in
their communities. A local coalition is
formed to help administer a problem identification process and then implement
an injury prevention program based on the results.
