EASTMAN AVENUE WIDENING PROJECT

SCHEDULED TO START TUESDAY, JUNE 1

On Tuesday, June 1, construction crews will begin an estimated 2-1/2 month project to widen Eastman Ave. from Joe Mann Blvd. to Commerce Dr. to five lanes. Eastman Ave. will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction starting Wednesday, June 2.

As construction progresses north towards Commerce Dr., the road will be closed to traffic, and detour routes using Joe Mann Blvd., Jefferson Ave. and Monroe Rd. will be posted. A commencement date for this portion of the project is unknown at this time.

With the 2004 construction season well underway, motorists are encouraged to sign up for weekly and last-minute construction updates by subscribing to City Hall News on the City of Midland website at www.midland-mi.org under the e-news heading. Motorists may also check the construction page on the City of Midland website for construction detour maps and details. Look for this on the City of Midland website under the “What’s New” heading.
