INTERSECTION OF STATE AND MAIN
STREET
CLOSED BEGINNING MONDAY, JULY 12
Due to equipment delivery
delays, a storm sewer improvement project set to begin on Tuesday, July 6 at
the intersection of State Street and Main
Street will
begin instead on July 12. It is
estimated that the intersection will be closed until July 30.
Main
Street will
be closed between Cronkright and State Street and State Street will be closed between Ellsworth and Main Street.
Access to Dow
Chemical Company 47 Building will be available via Ellsworth Street and Haley Street.
Motorists are
encouraged to seek alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion and delays.
Future traffic restrictions
will be announced as the George Street drainage basin storm sewer improvements
proceed to Mill Street, Buttles Streets and then along Patrick easterly to
Bayliss Street. The entire project is
expected to be completed in early November.
The storm sewer improvements
to the George
Street
drainage basin include installation of a 36” sanitary sewer from the corner of
State and Main
Street to
the intersection of Buttles and Mill Street and an 84” storm sewer along Patrick Road from Mill Street to Bayliss Street. This project
is a part of the storm and sanitary sewer improvements that the City has been
involved with during the last few years.
