CRACK SEALING AND MICROSURFACING TAKING

PLACE ON M-20 FROM MAIN STREET TO 8 MILE ROAD

As part of a Michigan Department of Transportation resurfacing project, construction crews this week started a project to seal cracks on M-20 (Isabella Road) from Main Street to 8 Mile Road. Following the crack sealing operation, a thin asphalt overlay - commonly referred to as microsurfacing - will also be placed on this segment of highway.

Motorists will encounter lane closures while crews perform their work, but at least one lane will be open for traffic.

The crack sealing operation is expected to be completed by May 14. The microsurfacing crews will follow shortly thereafter. The entire project is expected to be completed by June 4.

As the 2004 construction season gets underway, motorists are encouraged to sign up for weekly and last minute construction updates by subscribing to City Hall News on the City of Midland website at www.midland-mi.org under the e-news heading. Motorists may also check the construction page on the City of Midland website for construction detour maps and details.
