PAINT STRIPING PROJECT SET TO BEGIN MAY 25 ON MIDLAND ROADWAYS

Weather permitting, Midland roadways are scheduled to receive a fresh or new stripe of paint separating lanes of traffic and marking pavement edges beginning Tuesday, May 25.

The City of Midland’s annual pavement remarking contract will include new painting or repainting of centerlines, left turn lanes and pavement edge markings on roads throughout the city. Generally, high traffic volume areas will be painted at night, and lower traffic volume roadways will be painted during the day. Based on the weather, the project may start during a subsequent week. The project is expected to be completed within a week.

Beginning June 7 and continuing throughout the summer months, crews will also paint arrows, stop bars, City parking lots and No Parking areas throughout the city.

Motorists are advised to avoid contact with wet paint as it could damage vehicles. Traffic cones will be placed to indicate freshly painted areas.

Motorists are also asked to use caution when approaching wet paint zones and City paint crews.
