SOUTH SAGINAW ROAD CLOSED TUESDAY;

LANE CLOSURES EXPECTED THROUGH AUGUST 31

On Tuesday, August 17, South Saginaw Road will be closed to traffic south of Mark Putnam Road for work being performed by The Dow Chemical Company on their product transfer pipelines, which cross South Saginaw Road.  This work involves cleaning the exterior of existing pipelines and trusses with the use of high pressure water.

The road closure is expected to begin at 8 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Southbound traffic will be detoured via Mark Putnam Road, Schuette Road, Waldo Avenue and Salzburg Street. Northbound traffic will be detoured via Salzburg Street, Waldo Avenue and Bay City Road.

All Dow Chemical and Dow Corning Corporation gates on South Saginaw Road will be open and accessible from Salzburg Street.

Starting Wednesday, August 18, South Saginaw Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. as work continues. This work involves repainting the pipelines and trusses along with installation of new pipes. Project completion is scheduled for August 31, 2004. A one-day road closure is scheduled to take place towards the end of this project for installation of the new pipes. Detour routes will be the same as listed above.
