NOISE FROM VEHICLES AND SEATBELT USAGE THE TARGET OF TWO PRONGED
MIDLAND POLICE DEPARTMENT TRAFFIC SAFETY TEAM CAMPAIGN
Loud noise from vehicles and safety belt usage are the subjects of a two pronged Midland Police Department traffic campaign that begins on Monday, May 24. Organized by the department's Traffic Safety Team, the two campaigns will run simultaneously until June 6.

The Click It Or Ticket – Buckle Up or Pay Up statewide traffic safety campaign is the second part of the upcoming traffic safety initiative.
Midland police officers will work in conjunction with the
Midland Sheriff's Office and the Michigan State Police to enforce seatbelt laws
in specific enforcement zones in the city and throughout
Safety belt usage in
Seatbelt enforcement campaigns contribute to the Midland
Police Department’s aim of increasing seatbelt usage to at least 90 percent.
This would help to reduce an estimated 650 serious
injuries across the state annually and could result in 50 fewer fatalities due
to traffic accidents throughout
