WHEELER STREET WATER MAIN INSTALLATION
PROJECT STARTS MONDAY
The first phase of a
two-month-long water main construction project on Wheeler
Street will begin the week of August 23.
Starting on Monday,
August 23, Wheeler Street
from Washington Street to Swede
Avenue will be reduced to one lane of traffic
until approximately October 1. Two-way traffic will be directed through the
area by use of a flagging operation or signal control.
The second phase of the
project, on Wheeler Street
from Washington Street to Jefferson
Avenue, will begin shortly following the first
phase. This stretch of Wheeler Street
will also be reduced to one lane for the duration of the project.
The two-phase
construction process will help reduce inconvenience to local residents. October
31 is the estimated completion date for the entire project.
With the 2004
construction season well underway, motorists are encouraged to sign up for
weekly and last-minute construction updates by subscribing to City Hall News on
the City of Midland website at www.midland-mi.org under the “What’s New/Updates” heading. Motorists may also check the
