As part of the Ashman Street reconstruction project, Carpenter Street at Ashman will be closed for water main installation on Thursday, July 14.

Traffic will be detoured via Gordon, Hines, Rodd, Reardon, Allen and Adelaide streets. It is anticipated that Carpenter will be reopened by Friday, July 15.

Also as part of the reconstruction project, starting next week, Ashman Street will be closed to traffic from Nelson Street to Baker Street. A detour route will be posted to direct traffic around the closure. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion and delays.

That section of Ashman is expected to be closed for approximately four weeks.

With the 2005 construction season now underway, motorists are encouraged to sign up for weekly and last-minute construction updates by subscribing to City Hall News on the City of Midland website at www.midland-mi.org under the “What’s New/Updates” heading.
