SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE ADOPTED
AND PLACED ON CITY’S WEBSITE

The Toolbox project involved public workshops and hearings during which Midland residents, local developers, committees made up of community leaders and citizens, and the Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals and Midland City Council put on their tool belts and worked together to refresh both documents.
The Subdivision and Zoning Ordinances will be helpful when another land planning project begins this summer. A two-year process of revamping the city’s Master Plan starts in October 2005 and will involve public input. The Master Plan is a guide for growth and land use in the city. Once revised, the plan will help anticipate business and residential growth that might occur over the next 20 years.
Both the Subdivision Ordinance and the Zoning Ordinance are available on the Community Development portion of the City’s website at www.midland-mi.org.
