PORTION OF SWEDE AVENUE CLOSED ON FRIDAY
Final paving operations that will close Swede Avenue from E. Ashman Street to Patrick Road have been rescheduled from the original
construction date of Thursday, September 22, to Friday, September 23, weather
permitting. That project is expected to be completed and the roadway reopened by
Friday evening.
Motorists should
seek alternate routes around the construction zone to avoid traffic congestion
and delays.
This
work marks the near end of the Swede
Avenue reconstruction project, which involved
reconstructing and resurfacing the roadway from E. Ashman to Patrick. During
the week of September 26, there will be intermittent lane closures on Swede for
final cleanup of the project, but the work will not require the rerouting of
traffic.
Motorists are encouraged to sign up for weekly and
last-minute City of Midland construction
updates by subscribing to City Hall News on the City’s website at www.midland-mi.org
under the “What’s New/Updates” heading. Motorists may
also check the construction updates page on the City of Midland
website for construction detour maps and details. Look under the “What’s New/Updates” heading.
