SWEDE AVENUE OPEN TO SCHOOL TRAFFIC
DURING WEEKDAY MORNING RUSH
The Swede Avenue reconstruction
project from E. Patrick Road to E. Ashman Street continues, with Swede Avenue closed from E. Ashman Street to Eastlawn Drive for approximately
four more weeks.
To minimize inconvenience for school traffic and
other commuters, southbound Swede Avenue will be open to
morning traffic until 9 a.m. each weekday. On
the weekends and after 9 a.m. each weekday,
the street will be closed and traffic will be detoured. The detour route
utilizes E. Ashman Street, Washington Street, Eastlawn Drive and Abbott Road.
Within the next two weeks, street
reconstruction will also begin from E. Patrick
Street to Eastlawn Drive. Lane closures will
be expected, but two-way traffic will be maintained. This phase of the Swede Avenue reconstruction
project is expected to be complete in two weeks. Additional releases will be
provided as necessary.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution when
traveling through construction areas and along established detours.
