PORTION OF SWEDE AVENUE CLOSED ON THURSDAY
Swede Avenue from E. Ashman Street to Patrick Road will be closed
for final paving operations on Thursday, September 22, weather permitting. That
section of roadway is expected to be reopened on Thursday evening.
Motorists should
seek alternate routes around the construction zone to avoid traffic congestion
and delays.
This work
marks the near end of the Swede
Avenue reconstruction project, which involved reconstructing and resurfacing the roadway from E.
Ashman to Patrick. During the week of September 26, there will be intermittent
lane closures on Swede for final cleanup of the project, but the work will not
require the rerouting of traffic.
Motorists are encouraged to sign up for weekly and
last-minute City of Midland construction
updates by subscribing to City Hall News on the City’s website at www.midland-mi.org
under the “What’s New/Updates” heading. Motorists may
also check the construction updates page on the City of Midland
website for construction detour maps and details. Look under the “What’s New/Updates” heading.
