RECEPTION PLANNED FOR

 FORMER MIDLAND COUNCILMAN R. DRUMMOND BLACK

 

The public is invited to attend a reception recognizing former Mayor and First Ward Councilman R. Drummond Black for his 14 years of service on Midland City Council. 

 

The reception is scheduled for Monday, November 28 from 6-7 p.m. in the atrium of Midland City Hall, 333 W. Ellsworth Street.

 

R. Drummond Black has served seven terms as councilman to the first ward since first being elected in November 1991. He was elected by his City Council peers to serve as mayor pro tem in 1995 and has served as mayor since May 1996.

Former Mayor Black chose not to seek reelection in 2005. Tom Adams replaces him as councilman to the first ward and Bruce A. Johnson succeeds him as mayor.
