MIDLAND
POLICE DEPARTMENT TRAFFIC
SAFETY
AND ENFORCEMENT CAMPAIGN STARTS MONDAY
The Midland Police Department and the Midland
Traffic Safety Team will engage in a traffic safety and enforcement program from
October 31-November 12 with a primary focus on reducing speeding. The campaign
will be carried out through the sharing of information, high visibility of patrol
officers and enforcement of traffic laws.
The campaign will be geared towards several
residential streets commonly used as “cut- through streets” to main roadways or
“connector streets” between main roadways.
In addition to several
other residential streets that will be patrolled during this campaign, primary
enforcement will be on the streets listed below.

Throughout the
campaign, the Mobile Speed Detection Trailer (“Speedy”) will be placed on
residential streets to educate and inform drivers of the proper speed required in
that area as well as the drivers’ current speed.
Speeding violations
may result in fines of $100 or more, plus 2 to 4 points added to a driver’s
record.
