MIDLAND POLICE DEPARTMENT TRAFFIC

SAFETY AND ENFORCEMENT CAMPAIGN STARTS MONDAY

The Midland Police Department and the Midland Traffic Safety Team will engage in a traffic safety and enforcement program from October 31-November 12 with a primary focus on reducing speeding. The campaign will be carried out through the sharing of information, high visibility of patrol officers and enforcement of traffic laws.

The campaign will be geared towards several residential streets commonly used as “cut- through streets” to main roadways or “connector streets” between main roadways.

In addition to several other residential streets that will be patrolled during this campaign, primary enforcement will be on the streets listed below.

Throughout the campaign, the Mobile Speed Detection Trailer (“Speedy”) will be placed on residential streets to educate and inform drivers of the proper speed required in that area as well as the drivers’ current speed.

Speeding violations may result in fines of $100 or more, plus 2 to 4 points added to a driver’s record.

The Midland Police Department and the Traffic Safety Team encourage you to drive safely and courteously to help ensure a safer Midland for everyone.
