DOWNLOADABLE AUDIOBOOK DEMONSTRATION

PLANNED AT GRACE A. DOW MEMORIAL LIBRARY

On Monday, November 13, the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library will offer a free demonstration on how to download some of your favorite audiobooks via the Internet.

Stop by the Library Lounge at 7:00 p.m. to learn how to download to your home computer any of the more than 1,400 audiobooks available through the Library.

Audiobooks are digital versions of certain best sellers, book club favorites, and award-winning authors. The Library’s collection also contains many nonfiction titles including the Pimsleur language-learning series.

Patrons can download a book directly to a computer and then either listen to it through the PC or transfer the files to a portable listening device. Downloaded audiobooks can be played on devices that support secure or protected WMA (Microsoft Windows Media Audio) files. They will not work on Apple iPods.

To begin downloading audiobooks, patrons need to set up a free account at the Library.  Audiobooks can then be downloaded at home, day or night, from the website at www.midland-mi.org/gracedowlibrary.

Please contact the Reference Desk at 989-837-3449 for additional information.
