ELECTRONIC FUNDS TRANSFER PROGRAM NOW

OFFERED TO CITY WATER AND SEWER CUSTOMERS

Paying your water and sewer bill could get a little easier.

The City of Midland Utilities Division is offering a new service called Auto-Pay, which allows customers to have their water and sewer bill paid automatically from their checking or savings account. Customers will no longer need to write a check or mail in their utility bill payment – by participating in the Auto-Pay electronic funds transfer program, a customer’s water and sewer bill will be paid directly from a bank account that they designate.

Once enrolled in the free program, a customer’s bank account will be bank drafted (drawn) on the due date indicated on their water and sewer bill. Customers will still receive a bill indicating that their designated savings or checking account has been bank drafted. Also, the text “Bank Draft–Do Not Pay” will appear on the utility bill.

To sign up for the Auto-Pay program, City water and sewer customers must complete an enrollment authorization form and attach to it a voided check or deposit slip from their designated bank account. Forms can be downloaded from the City’s website at www.midland-mi.org, or hard copies are available at the Water Department, Midland City Hall, 333 W. Ellsworth Street.

To find out more about the Auto-Pay program, call the Water Department at 989-837-3341 or visit the City’s website at www.midland-mi.org.
