AT GRACE A. DOW MEMORIAL LIBRARY

 

Back by popular demand, the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library will offer free “hands-on” computer classes throughout the month of September. 

 

The computer lab is provided by the Mideastern Michigan Library Cooperative.  All classes run one and one half hours, and will take place in Conference Room C on the lower level of the library. 

 

Because class size is limited, reservations should be made. Beginning Tuesday, August 15, reservations can be made at the Reference Desk or by calling the Reference Desk at 989-837-3449.

 

Class offerings are listed below:

 

Beginners Guide: How to Use the Mouse and an Introduction to Windows

 

Learn basic Windows skills and how to use the computer mouse. There will be time to practice your new skills. There is no prerequisite.

 

  • Wednesday, September 6 at 7:00 p.m.
  • Friday, September 8 at 2:30 p.m.
  • Monday, September 11 at 9:30 a.m.

 

Basic Internet Searching

 

Learn how to use a web browser to access the Internet. Explore the difference between a search engine and a web directory, and discover simple tips for more productive searching. Computer mouse familiarity is preferred.
