STILL TIME
TO SIGN UP FOR
EASTMAN
AVENUE DESIGN SERIES
Midland citizens have until Friday, October 13 to
register to participate in a process that will help improve Eastman Avenue traffic.
Citizens can register for the Eastman Avenue Design
Series on the City of Midland website (www.midland-mi.org)
or by filling out a hard copy form available at the Grace A. Dow Memorial
Library or Midland City
Hall.
Interested citizens can also use a clip-out form appearing in the Midland Daily
News, or in the City of Midland
“At Your Service” newsletter, which was mailed this week to Midland residents.
The Eastman Avenue Design Series is a unique, three-day
series of meetings that will allow citizens to help Midland decide the best improvement option for Eastman Avenue. The sessions will be held at the Midland Holiday Inn
on October 25, 26, and 30, from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.
The structure of the meetings will include:
- Three, three-hour meetings that will detail eight specific
improvement proposals for Eastman Avenue from Wackerly Street north to
Commerce Drive;
- Opportunities for questions and answers and group discussion on
the improvement options; and
- Small group work to build consensus on the best improvement option
to implement.
As a participant, citizens will:
- Register ahead of time and commit to participating in all three
sessions;
- Receive materials before the Design Series to help prepare for the
meetings;
- Once at the meetings, engage in facilitated discussion with other
participants; and
- Be one element of input that helps Midland City Council decide how
to improve Eastman
Avenue
traffic conditions.
More information and various reports on Eastman Avenue traffic issues can be found on the City’s website (www.midland-mi.org), or in hard copy form
at the Government Information Center at the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library. Citizens are
also welcome to call the City Manager’s Office at 989-837-3301 for more information.
