NOVEMBER 20 MARKS THE BEGINNING OF THE
FINAL ROUND OF FALL LEAF COLLECTION

The City of Midland Department of Public Services will begin its final round of leaf collection on Monday, November 20.

Collection crews will begin in Area D and will proceed through areas A, B and C.

Because there are typically fewer leaves to collect during the second and final round of collection, residents are likely to see crews in their neighborhoods more quickly than they did in the first round of collection.

As each area goes through its final collection, street sweepers will come through to clean up the streets.  Please avoid parking on the streets while crews and sweepers are working in your area.  Residents with leaves remaining after this final collection should place them into kraft paper yard waste bags or bins on their scheduled refuse collection day.  The 25-cent per bag stickers are not required through the end of the yard waste collection season.

Due to possible freezing temperatures, yard waste in yard bins may freeze, which would hamper their removal by collection crews.  Keeping bins in the garage until collection day will help resolve this problem.

Residents can track the progress of leaf collection crews by calling the Leaf Collection hotline at 989-837-3405, watching the MGTV-5 message board, or visiting the City of Midland website (www.midland-mi.org).
