VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE HAUNTED FOREST

SO MUCH FUN IT’S SCARY!

Calling all good-hearted ghosts and goblins; volunteers are needed to assist with the Midland Parks and Recreation Department’s 2006 Haunted Forest.  The annual event will take place October 19-22 at the City Forest Chalet and benefits the Special Olympics Program.

Individuals and groups are invited to volunteer their time and be a part of this fun event that’s for a good cause. Volunteer opportunities include a need for creative people to create and run the “scare stations,” assist with those stations, and lead visitors through the forest.

Interested participants will be required to attend a volunteer meeting and will be notified as to the date, time and location of this meeting.

Groups may create their own original scare station or adopt one of the existing stations.  The Parks and Recreation Department will provide assistance to groups and individuals in the planning, design and construction of each station, and props will be supplied.

To volunteer or for additional information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 989-837-6935, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The deadline to register to serve as a volunteer is Monday, October 2.
