JEFFERSON AVENUE WATER STORAGE

TANK TO BE REPAINTED

Beginning Monday, September 25, the Jefferson Avenue elevated water storage tank will be out of service for a month while the City of Midland Water Division paints its exterior. The project is not expected to affect water pressure levels in this area of the city.

The parking area behind the Midland Community Center will be closed during the exterior paint job to protect vehicles from any possible airborne paint particles.

The exterior painting of this tank is part of a project that began last spring. It included metal work repairs and safety improvements along with interior and exterior painting of the tank. Work was halted in early July in order to provide for an adequate water supply during the high-demand summer months.

The painting project’s targeted completion date is Tuesday, October 24, weather permitting.
