EMERGENCY WARNING SIRENS TO BE TESTED
If
The growling sound, which could
last for a few seconds at a time, will emanate from any one of 27 outdoor
warning sirens located throughout the county that will undergo routine
maintenance and testing operations on Monday. A second test is also planned for
later in the work week.
The sirens are used as a warning
mechanism for tornados and chemical releases that could affect public health
and safety.
The Midland Fire Department will
coordinate testing on 13 outdoor warning sirens located within the city of
