LET THE WINTERTIME FUN BEGIN!

MIDLAND’S CITY FOREST OPENS

 

December 14, 2007 – Take a break from your Christmas shopping to enjoy wintertime activities at Midland’s City Forest.  To start the winter season, the City Forest will be open beginning Saturday, December 15.

 

Recreation areas that will be operational on December 15 include the sledding hill, cross country ski trails, and the chalet warming house.  For safety reasons, steel runner sleds and snowboards are not allowed on the sled hill.

 

For information on conditions of the toboggan run and ice rink, or for an update on conditions at the City Forest, call 989-835-7011 or the Parks and Recreation Department between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday, at 989-837-6930.

 

During the Midland Public Schools holiday break, City Forest hours of operation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

 

On December 24 and 31, hours of operation will be 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

 

Normal season hours are as follows:

 

Weekdays 

  4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Saturdays

10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Sundays and Holidays

        Noon8:00 p.m.

 

Cross country ski rental is $6.00 per two-hour rental.  Toboggans rent for $4.00 per hour with a two-hour maximum rental.  Ice skates are $2.00 per pair for a two-hour rental.
